During this 2-day class we will create an elegant, on-trend, 4-tier wedding cake consisting of a marbled, double-barrel (double-height) tier, a soft gold lustre tier and a beautiful driftwood-clad bottom tier.
To compliment your stunning creation, we will create a double-frilled wired sugar Peony with buds and foliage, crafted, coloured and assembled entirely by hand.
The techniques covered include: Treating and colouring sugarpaste (fondant), creating marble effect sugarpaste, covering double-height cakes, creating sharp edges, stacking and supporting multi-tier cakes, achieving an all-over lustre effect, creating and colouring life-like driftwood in sugar, making individual wired petals and leaves, colouring and assembling wired sugar flowers, how to attach and display wired sugar flowers and how to price your cakes to sell.
